It is hard to believe that I am the new President of this organization. I appreciate the Executive Committees that have come before, and I already have a greater respective for those that have previously served.
The promise of spring is in the air as I write this, and we have a promise of a good year for OCRA. I aspire to be an effective President and will rely on the members of OCRA to make this a good year for all of us.
I am hopeful that we can update and upgrade our website, so that it is a little more 21st century. There is an ad-hoc committee in place, and they have been given some instructions on what to investigate. It may not happen this
year, but I hope we come up with a model and method to improve the web-site.
Deeanna is our new newsletter editor; this will be her 1st OCRA newsletter and I want to thank her for volunteering for this fun job. I enjoyed editing the newsletter for a few years, and very happy to pass the torch to Deeanna.
The dates have been set for the fall workshop in October, the 8th and 9th. We decided on a two day workshop since there is the TMN training in March. The Education Committee is working hard to produce a great workshop. We hope many of you will attend. This is your workshop and it is not all about CE’s (although that is important), it is about our business meeting, the installation of Offices, networking with each other, learning new things and last, but not least, connecting with OSCaR.
I want to encourage those of you who are members of OCRA to encourage those who are not, to join the club; this is your organization and the Executive Committee wants your voices to be heard. Please let us know of any questions, concerns, ideas, suggestions, praise, etc.
Be heard. Thank you
Shannon Ramos
2015 OCRA President
